Baylor Scott & White Temple is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing Level One CATH LAB Department.
Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Full Time 7:30a-5:30p/ 4 10-hour shifts
Call Required and must live within 30 minutes of hospital
This is a Procedural area that focuses primarily on adults in both the outpatient and inpatient setting treating patients with symptomatic cardiac issues and various forms of heart disease
3 Cath Labs in Department with 15 bed Pre/Post area
The ratio within the labs is 2 nurses (1 for sedation, 1 for circulating/scrubbing/scrubbing) and 1 tech (circulating/documenting/scrubbing).
There are multiple procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory daily:
•Coronary angiography – taking pictures of the heart arteries
• Percutaneous coronary intervention – relieving blockages in the heart arteries through balloons and stents
• Right/Left Heart Catheterization – measuring the pressures in various chambers of the heart at rest and sometimes with exercise or medications
• Valve replacement or repair – Using advanced techniques to replace diseased aortic valves (TAVR) or reducing the leakage through the mitral/tricuspid valve (MitraClip)
• PFO/ASD closure – closing congenital defects in the top chambers of the heart
The Cath and EP lab staff work closely together in our pre/post area. There is a big feeling of family in this department, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Grad of Accred Prog or Eqival
- MAJOR - Nursing
- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of RN Experience
Prefer expereince in critical care or cardiology unit based patient care
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered Nurse (RN)
ACLS (ACLS): Must have both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
