As the Technical Writer for Stryker's Instruments, you will assist in the timely development and completion of comprehensive repair instructions for a variety of products. Audience includes Stryker Repair, Field Service, and Customer Service Technicians and Biomedical Equipment Technicians in global markets. All documentation must comply with medical device requirements.
This is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to be based in Michigan or Indiana with the ability to commute to the office as needed.
What You Will Do
+ Develop internal facing product maintenance information according to user needs for domestic and international customers.
+ Interview and collect information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from Service, R&D, RA, various functional areas.
+ Write and edit Service Procedures, Maintenance Manuals, and other accompanying documents aligning content with associated product.
+ Create and incorporate graphical elements for instructional purposes and accurate interpretation, including international application.
+ Coordinate, review, and approve deliverables in an enterprise system software keeping documentation updated with respect to changes in deliverables.
+ Adhere to corporate, quality system, and regulatory requirements.
+ Understand medical device standards and regulations and incorporate in deliverables.
+ Develop internal training reference materials, including repair videos and training plans.
+ Create and update repair videos for a variety of products.
What You Need
Required
+ Bachelor’s Degree in technical writing, technical communication, journalism, business, engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred
+ 1-2 years of relevant work experience
+ Technical writing experience
+ Regulated industry experience
+ Adobe Pro Suite experience (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Frame Maker)
+ XML authoring tools knowledge
