Position Overview
VP of Change Management and Store Communications leads store workload, communications, engagement, and change management across >1,100 Burlington’s stores. The role is responsible for the quality of in-store execution, follow-through, and sustainment so that change sticks and stores adopt new processes and technology. Scope includes technology and tools for stores and field leaders to manage communications, tasking, in-store execution, large-scale event planning and management. The right individual will be a great problem solver, communicator, collaborator, and people leader with experience leading communications, change management, or other operations functions at national scale retailers.
A Day In The Life
+ **Strategy** : Develop change management model for stores and field. Establish a go-to-market process for initiatives. Create tools and partnerships to make changes stick, to monitor progress, and to resolve issues for 100% follow-through across all >1,100 stores.
+ **Workload planning** : Oversee store workload management and related technology to balance demand and capacity for change in stores. Partner with Field, HR, AP, Learning & Development, IT and others to grow store capacity to absorb innovation and deliver on-process execution.
+ **Communications** : Lead all store and field communications across digital and physical media. Define communications strategy, channels, standards, and publication processes. Create tools for field leaders to understand and cascade communication as well as manage projects and tasking in stores. Write presentations and script speeches for EVP level presenters.
+ **Engagement** : Oversee store and field engagement, meetings, and events from defining the vision and strategy to leading execution across internal functions and external partners. Manage creation of event concept and content, and coordinate execution from monthly virtual leader gatherings to org-wide All Hands meetings and multi-thousand attendee in-person events.
+ **People development** : Train, coach, and performance manage teams within the function and mentor individuals in related functions. Establish internal processes to foster professional growth and capability development to create a high-performing organization.
+ **Cross-functional collaboration** : Engage closely with Field, HR, AP, IT, PR, and other functions to deliver on objectives, garner support for programs, and coordinate cross-functional execution of initiatives in the Stores organization.
You'll Come With
Education:
+ B.A. or equivalent
+ MS/MA or other advanced degree preferred
**Licenses/Certification/Registration:** n/a
Experience:
+ >10 years of experience in retail
+ >10 years of leadership experience in store operations or field in national scale retail
+ >5 years of leading communications, change management, and/or events and engagement
+ Proven ability to drive change in stores at national scale retail
+ Demonstrated problem solving, organizational leadership, and exceptional communication skills
+ Knowledge of retail technology for communications, task management or similar applications
