General Summary

Responsible for performing and monitoring apheresis collection procedures, and special collections including autologous and therapeutic blood draws. Will perform medical assessment, phlebotomy, and care of donors/patients and ensure cellular therapy products are safely and properly collected while maintaining all aspects of protocol compliance. Responsible for accurately completing data collection forms, maintaining charts, and assisting with the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Education According to the Job Description

Required Education: Requires sixty (60) hours or Associate Degree from an accredited technical/vocational institute,

college or university. The required major is Nursing or related field.

Required Experience: Requires three or more years phlebotomy experience.

Requires two years peripheral IV insertion experience.

Requires Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Preferred Experience: Prefer two or more years of apheresis collection experience in dialysis, plasma, platelets and/or

blood center.

Prefer ICU or ER experience.

CITI training preferred.

Experience with clinical research preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

Texas Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Texas Operators Driver’s License

Job Level Education

High School diploma • 3+ years of relevant experience
