    Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

    Job Description:

    Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.

     

    An Engineering Technician supports tooling in prescribing compounds and providing preventive maintenance to complex custom equipment.

    Essential Functions:

    + Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, and laboratory areas.

    + Assists in the test and check-out of custom tooling.

    + Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

    + May work with complex machines or computer systems.

    + Performs calibration and alignment check, prepares prescribed compounds and solutions

    + Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

    + Performs complete Preventive Maintenance on complex custom Tooling.

    + Major communications with multiple departments of Engineers

    Qualifications:

    + Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant Engineering Technician experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    + Tooling experience is preferred.

    + Familiarity of GD&T

    + Previous mechanical knowledge
