    *Location*: Hershey, PA * Work location*: This is a fully on-site role located at the Reese manufacturing facility in Hershey, PA. * Department*: Finance * Summary of Role*: The Accountant’s primary focus will be to understand and anticipate variance issues on the production lines. This role will lead the management of inventories, production analysis, profit plan development and promote the financial training of plant employees. The Accountant will be actively involved in providing support for plant financials and the accuracy reporting data. The individual will collaborate with many Plant disciplines and provide reporting and analysis under tight timelines. * Role Responsibilities*: Reporting & Analysis * Support the Senior Plant Controller in developing, analyzing and reporting of weekly performance, monthly close, financial outlooks and the annual budget. * Perform plant analytics and analysis on variances to enable the plant to address issue and improve performance. * Collaborate with specific Business Unit Leads to highlight plant shortfalls and work on corrective processes to overcome them. * Identify significant short term or long term deviations from standards to determine their root cause and steps needed to resolve issues * Utilize analytical models and statistics to gain insight on production trends, line mix, common costs and other key drivers of the plant financials. Controllership * Collaborate in the Plants’s monthly, quarterly and annual Sarbannes Oxley reporting and complinace. * Participate in testing on company store inventories and quarterly Purchasing card audits. * Reconcile company store monthly sales * Assist the monthly inventory process on materials, packaging, work in process and finished goods including product on site as well as items in transit to outside warehouses. * Utilize obsolete database to provide visibility on expiring or excess inventory on ingredient or packaging including seasonal and limited edition items. * Resolve goods movement and workflow errors * Perform the annual fixed asset inventory process including all additions, obsolete assets and transfers through established accounting procedures. Annual Plan and Standards * Assist in the annual plan process by coordinating the establishment of new product standards, direct labor and variable overhead rates and common cost overheard budgets. * Update production, crewing scrap and overweight standards as part of the budgeting cycle. * Provide the data input into SAP ensuring expense / earnings balancing. Special Projects * Assist the Sr. Controller on various special projects related to cost savings, forecast improvements, and other ad-hoc analysis. * Leverage processes and technologies to improve analytics to drive meaningful insights * Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities*: * Comfortability working with wide variety of data * Developing technology skills especially with SAP * Ability to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and execute process improvement recommendations * Strong Excel and PowerPoint modeling skills * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities simultaneously. * Ability to produce accurate results in a fast-paced constantly changing environment * Strong attention to detail * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements*: * Education – o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field required * Experience – o Ideally 1-2 years of work experience in manufacturing accounting or equivalent accounting / finance experience. o CPG and/or other consumer-facing products experience preferred; Experience developing data-driven recommendations #LI-TL1 #LI-Onsite The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
