Position Overview:
Zions Bancorporation is currently seeking an Risk & Compliance Intern to support our Market, Liquidity and Wealth Management (MLW) teams. These team members work closely with key executives to monitor and manage some of the most significant (and expanding) processes associated with the financial services industry. The MLW team provides second line oversight to the non-bank divisions of Zions Bancorporation including but not limited to Broker Dealer, Capital Markets, Public Finance, and Wealth Management groups.
As an intern, you will work closely with MLW Risk &Compliance managers, team members, and other stakeholders. You will participate in multiple small to mid-sized projects related to automation, reporting, risk & compliance oversight, data governance rules, quality management, risk assessment, and overall process improvement and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Solicit, consolidate, and document project requirements
+ Collaborate with MLW team members on documentation of compliance processes and creation of management reporting
+ Create or refine process flows, job aids, procedure documents, and resource sites
+ Communicate status updates and follow-up on outstanding items
+ Make improvement or efficiency recommendations based on review of data and documents
+ Create and pull reports from source systems, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Currently enrolled and working toward a bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in finance, economics, business administration, or accounting
+ Strong academic performance
+ Logical and critical thinking, with solutions-based approach
+ Organizational skills and a sense of urgency and accountability
+ Speak and present professionally in-person and in video calls
+ Professional, formal, and technical writing capability
+ Advanced interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively on a team and independently
+ Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
Preferred:
+ Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI
+ Knowledge of risk and control assessment techniques
+ Knowledge of various investment, bank, and government regulatory requirements, including FINRA and SEC rules
