    Expert Service Center Technician

     

    The Expert Service Center Technician will be responsible for initiating and executing service activities at designated service center locations in a safe and efficient manner. This role primarily handles advanced and multi-complex systems, proactively troubleshoots equipment, and works with mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems. The Technician conducts preventative maintenance, manages parts inventory, and promptly addresses safety issues for both Company and Customer owned equipment. The role may require direct customer interaction.

    Responsibilities

    • Initiate, execute, and document all service activities at service center locations, maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency

    • Create and promote a safe working environment and safety culture within the organization

    • Demonstrate high-impact behaviors including innovation, accountability, and empowerment

    • Proactively troubleshoot advanced and complex systems, including mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine systems

    • Conduct preventative maintenance and manage parts inventory

    • Anticipate, identify, and address safety issues on all equipment

    • Maintain company property, adhering to all safety and maintenance standards

    • Function effectively both independently with little/no supervision and as part of a collaborative team

    • Provide coaching, guidance, and motivation to junior-level technicians

    • Interface with customers as needed, delivering excellent customer service

    Travel Requirements

    • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time to other service center branches, including participation in training and field support

    Driving Requirements

    • Must complete Driver Application for Employment and submit to a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check

    • Additional required forms: Driver Disclosure and Release, Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement, FMCSA Certificate of Awareness, Driver Certificate of Violations, Driver Statement of On Duty Hours, Road Test

    • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card

    • Clean driving record

    Education Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • Technical military background, technical certifications, degree, or licenses preferred

    Experience Requirements

    • 3 to 5 years of technical work experience, with diagnostic experience working with diesel engines

    • Advanced skills in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot complex and multi-system issues

    • Experience coaching or training junior technicians

    • Customer service background required

    • Experience working independently and with minimal supervision

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    Skill Requirements

    • Advanced diagnostic and mechanical skills in diesel engines (required)

    • Experience in electrical, mechanical, and fusion systems as applicable

    • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate technical information

    • Demonstrated critical thinking and complex troubleshooting ability

    • Familiarity with basic controls (PLC) preferred
