• Supply Coordinator

    Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores (Houston, TX)


    **BASIC PURPOSE** : The primary function of the Supply Coordinator is to procure the most cost efficient and reliable supply for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Build and maintain a strong relationship with a network of fuel suppliers in a designated territory

    + Develop and implement fuel procurement strategies (supply optimization) to secure the lowest cost fuel in the market by monitoring Nymex, regional spot basis and solving over/short supplied markets

    + Proactively identify potential supply shortages and purchase spot deals to maintain adequate store inventory

    + Collaborate with Logistics in locating best supply point/cost during supply disruptions, arbitrage opportunities and large price move days for push/pull optimization.

    + Maintain Best Buy systems with terminal outages, changes in strategy, deal entry, allocation adjustments, and supplier outs, etc.

    + Monitor contract price performance and ratability, communicate issues or concerns to team across supply and logistics Review miss-pulls/exceptions and report performance issues to logistics team

    + Negotiate delivered in deals as needed

    + Relay local market intel to trading and marketing department

    + Keep management informed of any issues and opportunities

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics (preferred)

    + Experience:

    + 1-2 years (preferred)

    SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    + **Business Process Skills** :

    + Ability to negotiate favorable deals and terms

    + Petroleum industry and supply chain knowledge (preferred)

    + Knowledge of fuel pricing and contract mechanics such as PLATTS, OPIS and ARGUS

    + Understand market timing and fundamentals that move rack prices

    + On call weekends and after normal business hours

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel

    + **General Skills:**

    + Strong communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills and innovative thinking

    + **Typical Physical Demands:**

    + Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping

    + Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

    + Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator

    + Requires normal range of hearing and vision

    + Travel may be required
