    The Keystone Area Education Agency Board of Directors is searching for a dynamic, visionary educational leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to become its next Chief Administrator beginning July 1, 2026.

     

    Area Education Agencies (AEAs) were established in 1974 to deliver effective, efficient, and economical services to Iowa's schools as well as Iowa’s children from birth to 21 years of age.

     

    The Keystone AEA service area includes 21 public school districts and 25 accredited non-public schools with a total enrollment of nearly 32,000 students across approximately 5,000-square-miles in northeast Iowa. The Agency employs 196 staff members; the primary function for approximately 85% of the staff is to serve as a provider or support staff for the delivery of special education services to children ages birth to 21 years old.

     

    Applicants must have Iowa BoEE licensure with endorsements 171 – Superintendent/AEA Administrator and 190 – Evaluator.
