Description
The Department of Urology at the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY) is seeking a full-time **Assistant Professor** to join our dynamic and growing faculty. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree and expertise in microbiome science, microbial ecology, host-microbe interactions, and/or molecular mechanisms underlying urinary tract health and disease.
This position offers a faculty appointment commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program, develop collaborations within the department and across the University, and contribute to our academic missions in teaching and mentoring.
Qualifications
+ Ph.D. or equivalent in molecular biology, microbiology, or related field
+ Demonstrated expertise in microbiome research, with preference for work in urinary tract health, recurrent urinary tract infections, or host-microbe metabolic interactions
+ Evidence of strong research productivity and potential for securing extramural funding
+ Commitment to teaching and mentoring students, trainees, and fellows
+ Qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Urology

Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
