Post-Doctoral Fellow – Biomarkers in Glioblastoma

    Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our translational oncology team focused on biomarker discovery and validation in glioblastoma. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of computational biology, imaging science, and clinical research, applying advanced methods in genomics and radiomics to large patient datasets. This role also involves meaningful engagement with patients, physicians, and research staff to ensure high-quality collection and processing of biospecimens for downstream analyses. You will join a growing team of physicians and scientists at Henry Ford Health and Michigan State University Health Sciences as we build our start-of-the-art joint research center in Detroit, Michigan.

    Key Responsibilities

+ Conduct large-scale analyses of genomics, transcriptomics, and radiomics datasets to identify biomarkers of prognosis, treatment response, and resistance in glioblastoma.

+ Develop and apply computational pipelines, machine learning, and integrative modeling approaches to multi-omics and imaging data.

+ Collaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and laboratory staff to facilitate patient consent, biospecimen collection, and standardized sample processing.

+ Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, radiologists, data scientists, and laboratory investigators to design and execute translational studies.

+ Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications to disseminate findings and support funding efforts.

+ Mentor junior trainees and contribute to a collaborative, team-based research environment.

    Qualifications

+ PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Cancer Biology, or a related discipline.

+ Strong background in analysis of large-scale genomic and/or imaging datasets; experience with radiomics is highly desirable.

+ Proficiency in relevant programming and statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, machine learning frameworks).

+ Familiarity with next-generation sequencing data, multi-omics integration, and biomarker discovery pipelines.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with patients, clinicians, and scientists.

+ Prior experience in neuro-oncology, cancer genomics, or imaging research is a plus but not required.

    Opportunities

This fellowship provides unique training in cutting-edge biomarker discovery within a highly collaborative environment at the interface of clinical and translational science. Fellows will have access to advanced imaging platforms, state-of-the-art sequencing technologies, and well-curated longitudinal datasets from glioblastoma patients. The position offers strong mentorship and opportunities for career development toward independent research leadership.
