Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Policy Analyst to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Policy Analyst will be responsible for providing comprehensive policy support to AMC, focusing on analysis, development, and implementation guidance. This on-site role will focus on analyzing, interpreting, and developing policies for the Army Materiel Command (AMC), ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) and Army regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience with policy analysis, research, and documentation in a military or government environment.
Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
+ Analyze existing and emerging DoD, Army, and AMC policies to determine impact and implementation requirements
+ Research and evaluate policy alternatives and best practices across government and industry
+ Develop policy recommendations based on thorough analysis and stakeholder requirements
+ Draft policy documents, implementation guidance, and supporting materials
+ Review proposed policies for compliance with higher-level regulations and directives
+ Support the development and maintenance of AMC policy frameworks
+ Coordinate policy reviews with subject matter experts and stakeholders
+ Prepare briefings and presentations on policy matters for leadership
+ Conduct gap analyses between existing policies and organizational requirements
+ Support policy working groups and committees as required
+ Monitor policy effectiveness and recommend improvements
+ Assist in developing implementation strategies for new policies
+ Create and maintain policy tracking systems and databases
+ Support policy communications and change management initiatives
+ Provide policy interpretation guidance to stakeholders
+ Assist in resolving policy conflicts and inconsistencies
+ Support policy standardization and alignment across the organization
+ Research legislative and regulatory changes that may impact AMC policies
+ Develop metrics to measure policy implementation and effectiveness
+ Contribute to the development of policy-related training materials
+ Provide regular policy status updates and reports to leadership
Education and Experience:
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field
+ 2+ years of experience in policy analysis, development, or related role
+ Experience with research and analytical methodologies
+ Background in documentation development and management
+ Familiarity with government or military policy frameworks

+ Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate complex policy issues
+ Excellent research capabilities using various sources and methodologies
+ Strong written communication skills for policy documentation
+ Experience drafting clear and concise policy documents
+ Ability to interpret regulations and translate into actionable guidance
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in policy analysis
+ Experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Knowledge of document management and version control
+ Ability to present complex policy information in understandable formats
+ Experience supporting decision-making processes
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
+ Basic understanding of change management principles
+ Knowledge of policy implementation best practices
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
+ Professional demeanor and communication style
+ Adaptability to changing priorities and requirements
+ Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
+ Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Desired Skills and Competencies:
+ Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
+ Experience working with Army or DoD policies and regulations
+ Knowledge of Army Materiel Command operations and structure
+ Background in IT, cybersecurity, or information management policies
+ Experience supporting policy governance structures
+ Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations
+ Experience with policy impact assessments
+ Background in compliance monitoring or audit support
+ Experience with policy automation tools
+ Knowledge of legislative processes affecting DoD policies
+ Experience developing implementation roadmaps
+ Understanding of risk management frameworks
+ Background in strategic planning support
+ Experience facilitating policy workshops or working groups
+ Knowledge of performance measurement methodologies
+ Familiarity with knowledge management principles
+ Experience with SharePoint or other document management systems
+ Understanding of government decision-making processes
