    Description

    **Job Purpose:** The Safety and Security Coordinator collaborates in developing, implementing, and monitoring the agency’s security and safety plan. This position coordinates all phases of safety and security at CFI leased and owned properties and assists in incorporating those functions into the agency’s overall operations.

    + Ensures that the CFI’s main campus, CRCs, and Group Home facilities are secure and safe for all staff, clients, and visitors; acting as the agency point person for issues relating to security and safety, including law enforcement requests. Interacts with staff as a resource for addressing safety and security concerns during and after business hours.

    + Provides daily oversight of functions involving monitoring systems, intrusion detection, badging, alarms, inspections and replacement of related equipment. Collaborates and coordinates with Information Technology regarding access control.

    + Conducts training drills for CFI staff, including fire evacuation, tornado warnings, bomb threats, and exercise drills as needed. Works with staff management to coordinate security and safety orientations, training, and drills.

    + Conducts regular safety and security inspections at all CFI facilities, communicates with site managers regularly, and documents any identified deficiencies or suggestions for improvement.

    + Works collaboratively with leaders by making recommendations, offering suggestions, and accomplishing related results as needed, including actively participating in Safety Committee.

    + Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities and interviewing witnesses.

    + Serves as on-call contact for after-hours safety and security needs.

    + Manages agency relationships with contracted security vendors.

    Qualifications

    **Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:** (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)

    **Minimum Required Education:** High School Diploma or GED

    **Minimum Required Experience:** 3 years’ experience in a related field, including experience leading safety and risk programs

    Required License – Certification – Registration:

    **Issued By Governing Body** (if applicable): OSHA 30 certification preferred

    **Travel Type:** Up to 25%

    **Required Valid Driver’s License:** Valid driver’s license

    **Required Auto Insurance** : Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Security & Public Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of laws, regulations, and practices related to security operations, crime prevention, investigations, emergency management, and public safety. Familiarity with security systems and equipment such as electronic access control, alarms, and cameras.

    • Procedural & Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of security department procedures and systems; intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferred experience with security systems management.

    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including report writing. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across all staff levels and with diverse populations, including individuals with severe mental illness.

    • Leadership & Problem Solving: Proven ability to lead during crises, maintain professionalism under stress, solve practical problems in variable situations, and exercise sound judgment with minimal guidance.

    • Organizational & Confidentiality Standards: High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

    • Ability to read and interpret safety documents.

    • Access to a reliable personal vehicle.

    Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:

    **Physical Requirements:** Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

    **Visual Acuity** : The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.

    **Working Conditions:** Work may be performed both inside and outside. On-call and occasional off-hours work required.
