Shipping Coordinator

Materials is a key part of our business. Reporting to the Department Supervisor, a Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in materials.

What You Will Do:

+ Performs work which includes several job classifications such as material handler, inventory coordinator, cycle counts, shipping/receiving and warehouse.

+ Work may be performed as an individual contributor or in a team environment.

+ May require knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations unique to their operation.

+ May be trained or licensed to operate material handling equipment (i.e., fork lift, high boy).

+ Requires the ability to learn established quality and quantity requirements.

+ Beginning to learn advanced skills and gaining an understanding of the total process flow.

+ Perform transactions in ERP system as required.

+ Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

+ Ensures that all details of a task are accomplished properly.

+ Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge.

+ Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.

+ Refers questions and problems to higher levels.

+ Identifies and reports quality concerns.

+ Packages, crates, bundles, prepares product for shipment and receiving.

+ Works under minimum supervision. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, due dates and general procedures to follow.

+ Reports any deviation to frontline leader/supervisor.

What You Need to Succeed:

+ High School Diploma or GED required.

+ Min. Yrs. Experience: 1-3 in a manufacturing/distribution environment

+ Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated

+ Must have basic product knowledge of finishes, substrates, etc.

+ Basic understand of Microsoft Dynamics AX

+ Knowledge of plant receiving and materials movement processes

+ In addition, you ideally bring an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, but if not, we will happily provide the training and support you need to be successful!
