    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for selling and closing a portfolio of commercial and industrial (C&I) energy efficiency projects as well as the multi-family projects that mirror commercial programs. With a focus on Engineered Solutions and Multifamily Engineered Solutions programs. The C&I Manager will sell, manage and innovate energy efficiency programs to drive energy savings for customers. Responsible for all elements of the sales cycle, program design and delivery, metrics, regulatory requirements, customer participation, budget, evaluation and contractor engagement.

    Essential Functions:

    + Support daily operations of the C&I Energy Efficiency programs including implementation, contractor coordination, and customer support.

    + Support work management processes and procedures, budgets and other department performance goals.

    + Coordinate with Marketing to promote energy efficiency programs via advertising and public outreach events.

    + Represent the Company in meetings regarding energy efficiency programs and services.

    + Keep abreast of advances and/or changes in energy efficiency programming in NJ, and elsewhere, in consultation with the Energy Efficiency Program Managers.

    + Provide customer service and resolve customer issues that may arise regarding C&I Energy Efficiency Programs.

    + Sell and close commercial projects.

    + Cultivate and develop new business through building and existing relationships with professional organizations and trade allies.

    + Identify and source energy efficiency opportunities through a multifaceted approach, to include outbound sales calls, emails and outreach efforts.

    + Develop and support energy efficiency plan filings, program modifications, annual updates (including cost/benefit studies), and incentive filings.

    + Responsible for commercial program deliverables, energy savings and financial goals.

    + Support performance metrics applicable to each commercial energy efficiency program and in conformance with the overall portfolio.

    + Support the management of contractor relationships, which will include invoice review, quality enforcement, process implementation and interactions with Engineering firms under contract for larger commercial projects.

    + Work in support of various utility sponsored programs that encourage energy-efficiency in the commercial and industrial markets.

    + Accomplish financial objectives by supporting forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

    + Provide oversight, coordination, and technical guidance to commercial and multifamily energy efficiency team members.

    + Address escalated commercial customer inquiries.

    + Work with the NJ electric and natural gas utilities and other external stakeholders in the refinement of policies and procedures for the commercial energy efficiency programs.

    Qualifications

    Required Background:

    + Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering or Business with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.

    + Experience with energy conservation / energy efficiency work including ability to sell and close commercial projects.

    + Experience with be considered in lieu of degree.

    Required Skills:

    + Demonstrated ability to work within established budgets and deliver promised results.

    + Ability to present complex information comfortably to internal and external audiences.

    + Highly detail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

    + Ability to partner and/or communicate with a wide variety of professionals ranging from engineers to vendors, to subcontractors.

    + Demonstrated experience supporting successful projects or programs.

    + Proven leadership skills to motivate our cross functional and matrixed teams to ensure excellent delivery through consistent processes and systems.

    + Well-developed interpersonal & written communication skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience in utility-based energy efficiency programs with experience in developing and delivering these programs to residential and commercial sectors.

    Compensation Range:

    $97,500 - 156,000

     

    We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
