    CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Python Developer (Application Developer/Open Source) opening for our client in Houston, TX.

     

    **Location:** Houston, TX

    **Duration:** 9 months

    Duties:

    + Develop, enhance, and maintain Python-based applications in a distributed and containerized environment.

    + Design and implement scalable, asynchronous systems that avoid data conflicts across multiple machines.

    + Contribute to architectural design decisions and provide technical guidance to the development team.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.

    + Mentor junior developers and foster best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

    + Integrate and optimize systems using Kubernetes (via Docker), Kafka, and Azure cloud services.

    + Ensure version control and collaboration best practices using GitHub.

    Skills:

    + Advanced proficiency in Python and software development (beyond scripting).

    + Strong knowledge of multiprocessing and distributed system design.

    + Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and Azure.

    + Proficiency in GitHub and collaborative development practices.

    + Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex, asynchronous environments.

    + Ability to design systems for immutability and scalability across multiple machines.

    Experience:

    + Proven experience as a Senior Python Developer or similar role in application development.

    + Demonstrated background in distributed, asynchronous systems.

    + Experience in architectural design, technical leadership, or mentoring.

    + Stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
