Buyer - Procurement Department

Blue Star Architectural Glass, Inc. is a leading commercial glass fabricator serving the Northeast and beyond. With locations in New Jersey and Texas, we are rapidly expanding and looking for passionate professionals to grow with us.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Buyer to join our Procurement team. This role is critical in ensuring that our organization sources high-quality materials at the best value, maintains strong supplier relationships, and supports long-term procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience purchasing both direct and indirect materials, managing supplier performance, and leveraging analytics to drive decision-making.

Responsibilities:

+ Source and purchase direct and indirect materials from approved suppliers while identifying cost-saving opportunities with new vendors.

+ Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to secure favorable contracts that align with company objectives.

+ Manage supplier relationships by fostering open communication, addressing performance concerns, and building long-term partnerships.

+ Monitor inventory levels, place purchase orders, and coordinate with operations to ensure uninterrupted supply.

+ Oversee contract compliance, renewal timelines, and risk management to safeguard the organization’s interests.

+ Communicate procurement challenges, risks, and opportunities to leadership in a clear and timely manner.

+ Utilize spend analytics platforms to assess performance, optimize sourcing decisions, and develop high-level procurement strategies.

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
