    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a contract Electrical Hardware Engineer who is passionate about PCB testing and prototyping, including schematic design and layout, to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you will initially be responsible for testing a variety of products, with a focus on supporting new product features and development across multiple RL teams.

     

    Ideal candidates will have experience with DC-DC converters, high-speed digital signaling, common data buses (such as I2C and SPI), transmission lines, and impedance. You should also be capable of independently performing test measurements using equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies.

     

    What you’ll do…

     

    Electrical Design – This would include some schematic and layout of key electrical boards in Allegro, create system level block diagrams, work with cross functional teams (mechanical, PD, antenna, FW, etc).

     

    Bring Up and validation – Bring up PCB: Test designs for reliability and validity. Implement changes to address issues found. Document and communicate the issue to lead engineer

     

    Testing – Run testing of prototypes circuits and vendor EVBs

     

    System Integration – Work with engineering teams to integrate electrical designs into different test vehicles or products.

     

    Pay range: $85-88/hr

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering

    • Minimum of 2 years experience in lab

    • Ability to work with lab technicians to senior engineers.

    • Knowledge of DC/DC converters, Transmission lines, Common Data buses (Bluetooth, WiFi, ethernet), Board design (rigid & flex) and layout best practices

    • Ability to review layouts and schematics

    • Must be able to put together test procedures and reports • Python scripting experience

    • Design experience with micro processors, regulators

    • Experience bringing up PCBs with MCU, ADC, regulators, etc.

    • Comfortable using in-house or external APIs to test/debug products

    • Familiarity with Pspice or equivalent

    • Design tools such as Allegro, PADS, Altium
