Description

DOT Lighting Bucket Operator

Performs work from aerial devices and ladders to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.Working hours is typically a 10-hour day.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

+ Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, and handline etc.).

+ Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions and assists with work and material assembling from the ground

+ Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.

+ Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.

+ Exposed to traffic and may be required to have training on traffic flagging.

+ All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Must be 18 years of age or older.

+ Able to:

+ meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck as identified by truck manufacturer.

+ work long hours and overtime, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.

+ work with hands above head for extended periods of time.

+ work efficiently and effectively while working at heights.

+ safely enter and exit the aerial device and rear-end of the bucket and derrick trucks

Education & Experience

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Pre-Screen

+ Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

+ Valid class "B" commercial driver's license (CDL) required.

+ Ability to pass DOT physical & obtain DOT medical card required.

Travel Requirements:

+ Must be willing to travel out of town/state for regular/emergency storm work.

Physical Requirements:

+ **RARE:** (less than 10%): Sitting, Kneeling, Crawling, Color Vision, Climbing Stairs

+ **OCCASIONAL:** (up to 33%): Stooping, Squatting, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Ladders, Pushing, Reading, Lifting up to 50 lbs.

+ **FREQUENT:** (up to 66%): Carrying, Pulling, Balancing, body-twisting, Hearing/Speech Range, Lifting, Lifting up to 10 lbs., Manual Dexterity, Speaking Clearly, Walking

+ **CONTINUOUS:** (up to 100%): Standing, Sense of Touch, Gripping, Seeing , Reaching, range-of-motion, Depth Perception, Lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Climbing.
