GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director, Paid Search will serve as the strategic leader for our Paid Search discipline, overseeing a team of managers and specialists, and setting the vision for best-in-class search strategy, execution, and performance. This role is responsible for building client relationships at the senior level, partnering with cross-functional leads, and ensuring that all Paid Search efforts integrate seamlessly within broader media and marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Paid Search platforms, advanced knowledge of emerging trends, and proven experience leading teams and delivering measurable business results for enterprise-level clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
+ Own the overall Paid Search strategy, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and KPIs.
+ Develop innovative, data-driven search roadmaps that integrate advanced targeting, automation, audience strategies, and creative testing.
+ Partner with cross-channel leads (social, programmatic, analytics, creative) to deliver cohesive, integrated campaigns.
Client & Stakeholder Management
+ Serve as the senior client contact for all Paid Search matters, leading strategy presentations, quarterly business reviews, and performance discussions.
+ Translate complex Paid Search performance data into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
+ Build trust with clients by proactively identifying opportunities, solving challenges, and anticipating future needs.
Team Leadership & Development
+ Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Media Managers and Specialists, fostering career development and high performance.
+ Establish best practices, process efficiencies, and quality control standards across all Paid Search work.
+ Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
Performance Oversight
+ Oversee budget allocations, pacing, and optimization strategies to ensure campaign success.
+ Review and approve all major campaign deliverables, including strategies, reporting, and optimization plans.
+ Partner with analytics to evaluate performance and generate insights that guide future strategy.
Industry & Vendor Relations
+ Maintain strong relationships with platform representatives (Google, Bing, etc.) to secure access to betas, first-to-market opportunities, and competitive insights.
+ Keep ahead of industry trends, algorithm updates, and new technologies, and translate them into actionable strategies for clients.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
+ **Experience:** Minimum 4-6 years of Paid Search experience, preferably in an agency environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership/management role overseeing enterprise-level accounts.
+ **Education:** Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or certifications preferred (Google Ads, SA360) preferred.
+ **Industry:** Automotive or retail media experience is highly desirable.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
+ Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to translate business goals into measurable Paid Search initiatives.
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and grow high-performing teams.
+ Deep expertise in Google Ads, Bing Ads, Search Ads 360, and related tools.
+ High proficiency in budget management and forecasting.
+ Strong presentation and storytelling skills for executive audiences.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation Range: $119,510.00 - $179,850.00/annually This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
