Comcast’s MachineQ provides an integrated digital transformation solution that bridges the physical and digital worlds together with enterprise-grade hardware, and cloud-based IoT solutions.

The MachineQ Engineering team in a fast-paced, agile environment and culture where innovation is balanced with predictable delivery and operational excellence. From Cloud to AI/ML to Wireless to Hardware, the Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and operating MachineQ’s IoT based solutions. Our solutions are being used by thousands of businesses to solve meaningful problems; from the world’s largest restaurant brands to scientists working in the largest pharma and biotech companies in the world.

Role Description

As an AI engineer for MachineQ, you will bring your foundational engineering knowledge to implement software that leads to outcomes for our end users. You will work alongside senior engineers through design, development, and support of our new features enabled by AI. This role will partner closely with multiple product engineering groups within the organization and will collaborate regularly with an incredible team of infrastructure, hardware, and software engineers. The work product will consist of solution designs, architecture design, R&D, and implementation.

_What are some interesting problems the student will work on?_

In your role, you will evaluate AI models to measure their effectiveness and develop software to implement those models into SaaS based application. Interesting problems including learning how to scale AI models while understanding the cost implications of doing so.

_Where can this student make an impact?_

You’ll be working with the best and brightest engineers at Comcast who have extensive knowledge about AI, ML, Cloud, Data, and Wireless. Success in this role is characterized by contributing to a feature used by our customers.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Provides research and assistance to in the development and design of new product features enabled by AI.

+ Build data ingestion and transformation cloud infrastructure

+ Research AI models/solutionsand collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders

+ Develop, test, and deploy AI models/solutions

+ Demonstrate operationalizing AI models so other applications can utilize it

+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred** **Skills

+ Demonstratable experience with Python or other scripting language.

+ Exposure to an interactive data analysis and development tool (e.g. Jupyter, Databricks)

+ Understanding of SQL and ability to query databases

+ Exposure to public cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure or AWS).

+ Experience utilizing REST based APIs.

+ Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics

Minimum** **Qualifications** **and Eligibility Requirements

+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university

+ Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)

+ Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)

+ Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026

+ Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

+ Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
