Under general supervision, with latitude for independent decision making and action, in accordance with agency policies/procedures and federal/state regulations, reports to the Senior Director, Housing & Homeless Services/Initiatives CRPU (Administrative Job Opportunity Specialist NM-II). The Centralized Rent Processing Unit (CRPU) is responsible for ensuring the timely processing of emergency rent arrears grants approved by the Rental Assistance Unit (RAU), and FHEPS housing subsidy grants approved by the FHEPS Centralized Determination Unit (FCDU). The Centralized Rent Processing Unit is responsible for the citywide processing of checks for approved emergency rent arrears requests, and approvals by FCDU of requests for FHEPS housing subsidy payments.
The Centralized Rent Processing Unit (CRPU) is also responsible for the timely processing and issuing of checks on grants approved by RAU and FCDU and the disbursement of rent checks to DHS, Landlord, Homebase, and Legal Services Providers.
The Administrative Job Opportunity Specialist NM-I (Deputy Director, CRPU) is responsible for monitoring the completion of work/case actions, corrective actions, monitoring the overall efficiency of the unit, providing second level review, ensuring that unit goals are met, and resolving issues with check processing to prevent evictions.
The Homelessness Prevention Administration (HPA) is recruiting for (1) one Administrative Job Opportunity Specialist (Admin. JOS) I who will:
- Review, compile, and analyze weekly and monthly activity reports for submission to HHS-I Management which requires accessing the POS Management Console, pulling data related to the case activities completed by all staff in the unit to determine number of cases and completion of cases and to ensure timeliness and identify any trends or deficiencies so that corrective action plans can be initiated. Monitor the efficiency of the unit and determines the efficient allocation of resources.
- Direct the daily operations and activities of the unit, including the supervision, mentoring and monitoring work activities of a team of Associate Job Opportunity Specialists II to ensure that work is completely timely, and that agency and program goals/mandates are met. Provides second level review and approval of grants approved by AJOS I and AJOSII in POS and PAM by ensuring the correctness of case actions.
- Monitor time and leave of Associate Job Opportunity Specialists. Hold monthly unit meetings to disseminate information related to program and agency changes such as policy changes/updates to housing, and systems modifications.
- Attend meetings on behalf of Director of CRPU concerning the work of the unit, to disseminate and/or share information with other areas of the agency (such as FIA,) and stakeholders.
- Liaise with DHS, Home Base, Legal Service Providers and Job Center Management regarding issues pertaining to the distribution and processing of checks on approvals received from RAU, regarding rent arrears approvals, and FCDU, regarding FHEPS approvals to resolve and troubleshoot issues related to check processing to ensure timely processing to prevent evictions.

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of satisfactory full-time experience performing work related to providing employment related services or economic support services to persons in need, at least eighteen months of this experience must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and eight years of full-time experience equivalent to "1" above; at least eighteen months of this experience must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for one year; year of work experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least eighteen months of experience must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity as described in "1" above.

Salary Min: $ 82,194.00
Salary Max: $110,000.00
