To continue laying the groundwork and challenge what's possible for our business, we seek to partner with individuals ready to elevate their careers with us. *Work Arrangement: * Hybrid work schedule (4 Days Remote/1 Day Onsite) *What You'll Do: * Responsible for leading and managing Crowley’s intermodal rail operations, including planning, execution, and carrier performance across domestic and cross-border rail networks. This position oversees a team focused on optimizing rail container movements, coordinating drayage, managing rail/carrier relationships, and resolving operational issues. The Manager will focus on delivering customer satisfaction, driving cost-effective service, and ensuring regulatory compliance for rail and intermodal services. *Key Responsibilities: * * * * Lead and manage the*intermodal rail team*including planners, dispatchers, and operations staff. * Partner with internal teams to identify and develop*growth strategies*for rail intermodal services across new and existing business lanes. * Evaluate and improve operational procedures for*drayage coordination, chassis utilization, liner bookings*, and*rail carrier cutoffs*. * Ensure Crowley’s land transportation offering remains competitive by leveraging*rail partnerships, capacity planning*, and*lane optimization*. * *Negotiate rates and service agreements* with Class I railroads, IMCs, and drayage partners. * Foster and maintain strong relationships with*rail carriers, port terminals, and inland ramps*. * Monitor*rail schedules, transit times, and exceptions*, ensuring timely resolution of delays or service disruptions. * Provide leadership in the use of*transportation systems (TMS, visibility platforms)*to track performance and drive accountability. * Develop and report on KPIs for*rail performance, container utilization, chassis efficiency, on-time delivery*, and cost performance. * Ensure compliance with all*FRA, DOT, AAR*, and relevant regulatory agencies' rules and policies for rail transport. * Oversee accurate billing, rate application, and reconciliation of intermodal services. * Collaborate with sales and account management to develop customer-facing solutions and support customer service escalations. * Develop and maintain documentation of intermodal SOPs, including exception handling, cutoff protocols, and terminal requirements. * * *Education & Credentials:*Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field required. Equivalent post-secondary education and experience may substitute for a degree. *Experience:* * 5–7 years of progressive experience in rail intermodal operations, rail network management, or truck-to-rail conversion strategy. * Strong background in carrier negotiation, drayage operations, rail ramp coordination, and transportation cost control. * Experience with Class I railroads, IMCs, and port/terminal operations highly preferred. *Technical Skills:* * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). * Experience with TMS platforms and rail/intermodal visibility systems (e.g.,*LoadIQ, Blue Yonder, C-Site, P44, McLeod*). * Familiarity with*railcar/container matching*, tracking, and optimization software * * *Why Join Crowley? * * * This Manager will lead Crowley’s intermodal rail operations to ensure smooth, cost-effective container movement across domestic and cross-border networks.
