Description

Robert Half Legal is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Paralegal with 5-7 years of experience to join a thriving legal team in Houston, Texas, on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a proven track record of handling cases from file inception to trial. Responsibilities:

+ Manage cases from start to finish, including file organization, discovery, trial preparation, and trial execution.

+ Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.

+ Handle e-filing in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

+ Support attorneys with all trial preparation, including creating trial binders, coordinating witness and exhibit materials, and managing courtroom logistics.

+ Conduct fact-finding investigations, organize evidence, and assist in reviewing and interpreting case documents.

+ Communicate with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court representatives in a professional and timely manner.

+ Perform legal research to support case strategy and assist with deposition preparation as needed.

+ Monitor deadlines and maintain an organized litigation calendar.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 5-7 years of proven experience as a paralegal specializing in litigation, with demonstrated success in managing cases from beginning to end.

+ Strong knowledge of legal processes and procedures, particularly in trial preparation and courtroom support.

+ Proficiency in e-filing within state and federal court systems.

+ Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple cases and meet critical deadlines.

+ Advanced drafting skills and thorough attention to detail in preparing legal documents.

+ Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties.

+ Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software preferred.

+ Paralegal certificate or equivalent education/training required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
