We are seeking a highly motivated scientific laboratory associate with a solid background in Neuroscience to join our growing Psychiatric, Pain and Neuronal Health Group Neuroscience Discovery at Lilly’s Indianapolis Lilly Research Laboratories site. The candidate will be an integral part of multiple cross-functional teams focused on developing novel medicines across broad neurological and psychiatric disorders. The ideal candidate should have effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and optimize in vitro differentiation protocols and production of iPSC-derived cell types of especially iPSC-derived neurons and glial cells. Establish and optimize culturing conditions of neuronal co-cultures
+ Isolate primary neuronal cell types from rodent models and establish in vitro primary culture
+ Support development of target-specific molecular and functional assays in relevant cell types differentiated from human pluripotent stem cells
+ Collaborate with the team to carry out molecular biology, biochemistry and imaging-based analysis in iPSC derived system
+ Responsible for providing critical insights and assessments on next-generation technologies (e.g. Next Generation Sequencing). Identify and liaise with potential partners, collaborators.
Basic Qualifications
+ B.S. or M.S. in biology or related disciplines with 2+ years of experience in neuroscience.
+ Experience with iPSC handling and primary neuronal culture is a plus.
Additional Skills/Preferences
+ Passion, knowledge and experience in neuroscience research.
+ Strong analytic thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate issues, and extract and synthesize complex issues into key focus.
+ Creative and curious. Can quickly adapt in a fast-paced working environment
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven record to collaborate and network across a wide variety of functions and work effectively with internal and external partners.
+ Good organizational skills and can pay attention to the details

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,000 - $162,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
