Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works has an immediate need for an Operations Shift Manager at our Steelmaking department. The Shift Manager is responsible for managing a union workforce and processing steel through the unit.

Summary of Responsibilities

+ Supervision and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.

+ Control shop timing, including making sure each steel heat meets its destination on time.

+ Assisting in the development, review, and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and Quality Standard Operating Procedures for the department.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Previous supervisory experience in an industrial or related environment.

+ Proficient computer skills.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

+ Direct experience with steelmaking, melting, refining or casting steel.

+ Supervisory experience in a union environment.
