    The Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gauges, and other testing and measuring equipment. The goal of the Calibration Technician is to ensure the accuracy and precision of the measurements taken using this equipment. This position is also responsible for the management of the calibration process.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities

     

    + Administer all calibration methods and procedures.

    + Runs monthly reports to determine equipment due for calibration.

    + Performs routine equipment maintenance.

    + Calibrates equipment to industry standards.

    + Troubleshoots equipment failures.

    + Conducts equipment repairs.

    + Suggests equipment upgrades.

    + Maintains calibration equipment and supplies.

    + Completes equipment reports.

    + Contacts outside calibration houses to schedule outsource calibration.

    + Maintains control and traceability related to outside vendors.

    + Create and document work instructions.

    + Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    + High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 1 year of experience as a calibration technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience with equipment maintenance and repairs preferred.

    + Advanced troubleshooting skills.

    + Competency with calibration software.

    + Certified by ASQ (American Society for Quality) preferred.

    + Experience with ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

    + Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    + Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.

    + Wilcox is a U.S government defense contractor, and this position requires access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.
