    Job Description

    As the Sr. Manager of the Mechanical Engineering group, you will lead a diverse and motivated team of engineers specializing in mechanical engineering and semiconductor solutions, primarily based in Fremont.

     

    Your role will involve serving as a coach and mentor, fostering the growth of your team members in both competencies and skills while promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. You will coordinate various projects, ensuring their accurate completion and cost-effectiveness, while highlighting the team’s expertise in optomechanical system design, stages, lasers, optics, and cooling solutions. Additionally, you will handle relationships with suppliers and development partners, negotiating and managing contracts to ensure outstanding quality and efficiency in project implementation. By working closely with module and system architects, you will help define and enhance current and future competencies in EFA product development.

     

    Beyond management, you will actively contribute to direct design efforts, providing technical guidance and expertise to solve complex engineering challenges. Your planning proficiency is vital in harmonizing the team’s goals with the company’s objectives, supporting the creation of long-term strategies for the mechanical engineering group. Your experience, communication skills, and ability to foster a collaborative team environment will be crucial in leading your team to success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the Systems Engineering group focused on mechanical engineering.

    + Develop mechanical and systems engineering competencies within the team.

    + Lead all aspects of team goals, performance evaluations, and talent acquisition.

    + Ensure high-quality output from team members.

    + Provide effort estimations and resource allocation to support project portfolios.

    + Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in team processes, collaborations, or competencies.

    + Contribute to the development and maintenance of the EFA technology roadmap, ensuring commonality across portfolios.

    + Collaborate with industry partners, research centers, and universities to develop innovative concepts and modules.

    + Engage with project leads, program managers, and peers to ensure productive collaboration across teams and divisions.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    + Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in complex mechanical system designs.

    + 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering; experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred.

    + Proven experience leading teams in a high-tech R&D environment.

    + Strong understanding of New Product Development (NPD) processes and challenges.

    + Knowledge of optomechanical and electron microscopy technologies is highly preferred; experience in other complex industries will also be considered.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects through defined processes.

    + Outstanding skills in inspiring, persuading, and motivating teams.

     

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $163,100.00–$190,000.00.

     

    This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
