    Job Description:

    We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager at the Plywood facility in Taylorsville, MS. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and guiding the business goals, plans, and processes for the maintenance department. This leader will use knowledge to develop and carry out objectives, solve problems, and be able to respond to short-term as well as long term department and mill goals.

     

    The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure that the mill’s maintenance is meeting the objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service. The candidate will lead and support preventative maintenance programs and provide technical support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies

    Day-to-Day:

    • Promote Safety: Ensure a safe work environment by encouraging best practices and identifying hazards throughout all maintenance activities.

    • Policy Compliance: Make sure all maintenance work follows Georgia-Pacific policies and procedures.

    • Collaborate with Operations: Work closely with operations leaders to ensure equipment is available and reliable to meet customer needs.

    • Oversee Maintenance Functions: Supervise all plant maintenance tasks, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, and control systems.

    • Preventive Maintenance: Lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs and manage the storeroom effectively.

    • Daily Coordination: Align daily maintenance work with operations to maximize equipment uptime and value.

    • Team Development: Evaluate technician performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional growth.

    • Flexible Availability: Be available to work different shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

    • Leadership & Culture: Support the development of your team and promote a culture aligned with Koch Industries’ Principle Based Management™.

    • Budget & Planning: Manage labor hours, maintenance and capital spending, annual outages, and reliability improvements.

    • Strategy & Systems: Develop maintenance strategies and manage planning/scheduling through the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

    Skills and Requirements

    • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

    • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience

    • Proven ability to lead maintenance, reliability, and preventive/predictive improvement efforts

    • Hands-on experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings

    • Skilled in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or similar problem-solving methods

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including:

    • Word: creating, editing, and formatting documents

    • Excel: building and modifying spreadsheets, using formulas, filters, and graphs for data analysis • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an accredited academic program.

    • Knowledgeable in the areas of PLC’s, conveyor systems, breakers, boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    • Experience in welding, machining, industrial design, and equipment rigging.
