We are looking for a strong AWS Developer to join our team working on services and components that interface between larger consuming systems and the backend SmartComm system for document generation workflows. This includes maintaining a major backend service API and two existing front-end applications, with plans to develop two additional front-end apps in the upcoming year.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in AWS technologies and have experience in building robust, scalable, and high-performance cloud-based applications. You will be part of a dynamic team collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. In this role, you will work with the following technologies:

Responsibilities:
+ Development & Design:
+ Design and develop scalable, high-performance applications using AWS technologies (Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB).
+ Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and understand business requirements and technical specifications.
+ Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
+ Design and implement RESTful APIs and services using Node.js and AWS Lambda.
+ Participate in code reviews to ensure the maintenance of high-quality coding standards.
+ System Architecture:
+ Participate in the architectural design of new systems and the refactoring of existing codebases, ensuring solutions are aligned with AWS best practices.
+ Contribute to decisions around system architecture, technology stacks, and design patterns.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks, within the AWS environment and related systems.
+ Testing & Debugging:
+ Implement and maintain automated unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality.
+ Debug and resolve issues quickly in production environments using tools such as GitLab CI/CD for continuous deployment.
+ Ensure applications are secure and follow software development best practices.
+ Collaboration & Mentorship:
+ Work closely with other developers, QA engineers, and product teams to ensure successful project delivery.
+ Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their technical skills.
+ Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to team members across the organization.
+ Continuous Improvement:
+ Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in AWS, cloud development, and software engineering.
+ Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, methodologies, and tools, including the adoption of best practices for cloud infrastructure and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
+ 4+ years of professional experience in cloud-based development, particularly with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, and DynamoDB.
+ Experience with AWS CDK, Node.js, TypeScript, React, and RESTful API design.
+ Experience working with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Apigee is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
