    **Description** :

    + Provides strategic planning and enterprise risk management support to the agency, working collaboratively across all business units to evaluate and integrate strategy and risk management into key processes and operations. This role is responsible for providing direction, guidance, monitoring, reporting, and execution of program activities in alignment with established standards and procedures. Additional responsibilities include the development and maintenance of a comprehensive risk register and risk assurance mapping. The position also involves making program-level decisions related to internal controls and risk, ensuring effective engagement and coordination across all organizational areas.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    + Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the identification, assessment, and management of enterprise risks and internal controls.

    + Establish, communicate, and facilitate the use of appropriate risk management methodologies, tools, and techniques across the organization.

    + Collect, evaluate, and maintain data related to risk assessments, controls, and mitigation activities.

    + Work with client business units to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities, develop risk registers, and compile data.

    + Conduct risk assessments, audits, and control evaluations as scheduled or requested, and prepare and present comprehensive reports on findings.

    + Perform follow-up activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of audit findings and risk mitigation actions.

    + Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs to promote a strong risk culture.

    + Coordinate and communicate with the Executive Board Auditor and designated Executive Board contacts on risk and audit matters.

    + Maintain audit and risk documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory retention requirements.

    + Provide oversight and guidance to matrixed team members, contractors, or temporary staff supporting risk or audit-related activities.

    + Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management program and recommend enhancements as needed.

    + Ensure continuous improvement of risk practices and alignment with industry standards, regulatory expectations, and best practices.

    + Conduct special studies, projects, or initiatives as assigned, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.

    + Perform special assignments using knowledge gained through experience and education. Conduct benchmarking studies for business-related issues.

    + Must support the biennial refueling outage.

    Required Education and Experience:

    + Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and seven years of working experience in Business, Strategy, Risk, Audit or other relevant field OR an AA degree and 9 years of working experience in Business, Strategy, Risk, Audit or other relevant field OR a High school diploma or GED and 11 years of working experience in Business, Strategy, Risk, Audit or another relevant field.

    Required abilities and skills:

    + Demonstrated ability to make decisions, ensure effective basis for decisions, and effectively communicate decisions and their associated purpose and impact.

    + Demonstrated ability of being highly proactive and driving timely closure.

    + Demonstrated ability of assessing lessons learned both personally and within the area of responsibility and taking action to close identified gaps.

    + The ability to identify risks associated with a project, process, and/or task using a standard based approach.

    + The ability to design and /or evaluate mitigation strategies and internal controls for effectiveness.

    + The ability to provide insight/input into proper risk tolerances, proper risk prioritization, and proper mitigation.

    + Ability to manage and track progress against assigned work products for periodic status meetings. (For yourself and others)

    + Well organized and ability to manage workload in a constantly changing environment.

    + Demonstrated focus on developing quality work products including audit reports and Executive Board presentations.

    + Demonstrated ability to be proactive in resolving problems, removing barriers, making decisions, improving work processes, and developing self.

    + Demonstrated ability to identify, review, and comprehend applicability to Client on existing audit standards, accounting standards, and State and Federal requirements and apply them to all audit activities.

    + The ability to effectively establish credibility and articulate ideas to gain consensus on discussed topics or rally support for new ideas and secure stakeholder buy-in; use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide individuals or groups toward task accomplishment; to maintain group cohesiveness and cooperation, while at the same time honestly confront issues when they occur at all levels of the organization; to facilitate group process and gain agreement/commitment to ideas, plans and courses of action; to influence and be influenced by others, and in so doing, accurately assess the skills, feelings, concerns and needs of others; and to model the enthusiasm, hard-working attitude, competence and commitment to quality and growth that is expected of others.

    + The ability to maintain a high level of energy to motivate and keep others enthusiastic and involved; to listen to and understand the customer, anticipate their needs, and give high priority to customer satisfaction; to maintain effectiveness in varying environments, tasks, and responsibilities, and with different people; to maintain stable performance under pressure/opposition; to identify opportunities and implement plans to improve themselves; to consistently demonstrate a commitment to nuclear, radiological, and personnel safety and environmental protection.

    + Ability to self-motivate and bring assignments to conclusion on time and as expected.

    + Ability to self-educate to ensure preparedness for audits, assessments, and other activities.

    + A strong focus on balancing safety and reliability with fiscal responsibility. A questioning attitude to encourage contemplation of alternatives. A constant focus on achieving the desired results rather than just implementing a process. A sense of urgency and focus to meet deadlines.

    + An ability to draw logical conclusions from data and analyses, do it succinctly and in a way that is easily presented and understood by station personnel.

    + Strong presentation and communication skills and the ability to handle oneself professionally and credibly. This will require fielding questions and will often require presentations.

    + An ability to transfer knowledge throughout the company through one-on-one discussions and under workshop settings.
