    Position Overview

    MercyOne is seeking a visionary and experienced **Market Director of Nursing for Women and Children Services** to lead and oversee operations across multiple facilities. This strategic leadership role is responsible for budgeting, planning, patient care management, and integration of services for women and children. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader and change agent, driving innovation and excellence in care delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead and manage Women and Children Services across MercyOne Medical Center, West Des Moines, Centerville, and Newton.

    + Collaborate with senior leadership, physicians, and staff to meet departmental and organizational goals.

    + Develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, and staffing models.

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory standards including The Joint Commission.

    + Drive performance improvement initiatives using data-driven strategies.

    + Mentor and coach management and staff through change and innovation.

    + Align services across the market and standardize clinical performance based on AWONN and AAP standards.

    + Implement new care models utilizing digital technology.

    + Represent MercyOne in national professional organizations and community health initiatives.

    Qualifications

    + Current or compact state RN license (Iowa).

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree required.

    + AWONN certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).

    + BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.

    + Completion of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

    + Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a large, complex Women and Children services environment.

    + Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.

    + Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

    + Proven ability to lead in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
