Job Description:
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the field of insect chemical ecology, plant-insect-microbial interactions, and pest management within the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University. Specifically, the individual will co-lead two USDA NIFA-funded projects: i) mechanisms and ecological ramifications of rhizobacterial mediated plant-insect interactions; and ii) management of Hessian fly in wheat. The projects will involve laboratory, greenhouse, and field studies.
Job Responsibilities:
-Participate in other ongoing research projects in the laboratory.
-Essential functions include conducting laboratory, greenhouse, and field experimental work.
-Analyze data and prepare reports and research manuscripts.
-Develop and submit research proposals to funding agencies.
-Opportunity to participate in mentoring of students.
-Other duties as required.
Required Education:
-PhD in Entomology or related field
Preferred Experience:
- E xperience with chemical/molecular ecology techniques, biological control of insects, and/or field research.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Good communication and computer skills.
Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to travel to field sites for field research.
