Amazon is searching for a Photo Studio Producer who will report to the Studio Manager and facilitate end-to-end daily production for Amazon’s photography studio located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will oversee project management, daily shoot schedules, and budget, as well as the sourcing and booking of creative crews, management of logistics, and coordinating creative approvals for special projects. This person must also have a strong understanding of usage rights and legal releases.
Key job responsibilities
- Support high quality production of approved concepts within budget and on schedule
- Take creative direction given by business partners and translate that into daily production teams
- Responsible for the scheduling and booking confirmation process for freelance creative crew
- Ensure all legal documentation is accurately completed and received from incoming talent
- Organize production information for internal reviews
- Attract new talent and raise the quality bar by develop working relationships with talent representatives
- Negotiations with vendors following established rates and usage
- Coordinate and manage logistics with studios and location scouts
- Partner with marketing, advertising and promotions to ensure consistent messaging of Amazon brand
- Support the financial tracking by assisting with invoicing and reconciling expenses
- Manage production budget and payment approvals, and partners closely with Procurement teams to ensure proper financial reporting
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- 5+ years professional experience in a high-volume photo studio production operation, handling freelance bookings
- Strong knowledge of industry rates and booking procedures of freelance talent
- Full understanding of photo/video crew roles and responsibilities
- Ability to continuously manage multiple high priority tasks
- Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and outside vendors
- Proficient working knowledge of Mac and PC computing platforms, including Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with database management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with sample management in an e-commerce photo production environment
- This position will require adaptability to ever-changing operational demands, with ability to re-focus and develop options for quick changes in projects
- Self-driven and exceptional work ethic, with an instinctual tendency towards order and detail, and the proven ability to handle intensive schedule coordination
- Strong negotiating skills and experience with talent contracts
- Proven ability to analyze quantitative data and solve problems
- Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to handle heavy schedule coordination
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast paced environment
- Productivity-focused and proven to be a quick problem solver
- Familiar with 5S, LEAN, Kaizen principles

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $58,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $124,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
