Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to design, manage, and deliver innovative consumer products, technologies, and tools.
You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, destroy limits to scale, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. This role will require high judgement on how we can deliver for customers in both the short- and long-term.
The right candidate should possess a strong program management background, have experience leading large/complex/cross-Org. projects, and have a well-rounded technical background in SW development.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to lead and drive new technology initiatives and evaluations for next generation Amazon products and features.
- Align with technical teams to develop program roadmaps.
- Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements.
- Mentor and support other Technical Program Managers within the team.
- Drive data-based activities to develop insights on device and accessory performance and improvement recommendations.
- Lead cross functional and full stack problem-solving and development activities from design through delivery.
- Work with global teams to deliver supporting software and services in sync with launch timelines.
- Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control.
- Work with component leads to drive evaluation and adoption of new vendor technologies and HW.
- Work with vendors and external partners to deliver device software and firmware technologies into our products.
About the team
The team is composed of multiple TPM functions: Product TPMs, Multimedia TPMs, Health TPMs (Performance, Power, Stability, Graphics); working across multiple device families: Fire Tablets, Fire TV Sticks and Cubes, Fire TV Editions (Smart TVs), and Echo Products. Given the breadth of scope, there are multiple opportunities to learn something new, try something new, and mentor/grow others.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in software development
- Experience in consumer electronics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
