    Overview:

    Manages large-scale operating model transformation across M&T Equipment Finance Group while managing a portfolio of initiatives. Works closely with the senior managers within the Bank to lead critical projects related to supporting strategic objectives of the Bank, improving profitability and risk management, ensuring efficiency and sustainability of core processes, and positioning the Bank to meet evolving regulatory expectations. Sets direction for overall planning and implementation of time sensitive, critical, programs and/or projects and leads development of methodologies, processes, and plans, assembles teams and manages issue identification and resolution. Ensures appropriate industry outreach efforts.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + • Lead effort to define scope and approach for Division/Department and enterprise initiatives. Mobilize and lead new working groups and/or committees to govern key change initiatives as needed. Define multi-year approach/view (i.e., roadmap).• Analyze options and processes to guide organizational decision-making, including development and adoption of business case, responsible for implementation of overall initiatives.• Lead process improvement initiatives including process mapping, process design, and implementation of new processes driving efficiency and improvement in customer experience.• Partner closely with product management leadership ensuring an integrated roadmap with technology delivering on division/department strategic goals.• Present content at various governance functions; manage the development of comprehensive content and materials, analysis of complex data sets, or analysis and optimization of data structures.• Interact professionally at many different levels, routinely with senior management to negotiate, influence and gain consensus. Communicate verbally and in writing with senior management on status of initiatives on a regular basis, in a professional and understandable manner.• Lead a team of project improvement and process improvement professionals. Implement routines and best practices to monitor project performance and drive consistency.• Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.

    • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

    • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

    • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

    • Complete other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 14 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 9 years’ relevant work experience

    + Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience

    + Advanced analytical ability

    + Advanced creative problem-solving skills

    + Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for business partner relationships within and outside the organization

    + Experience communicating professionally at many different levels

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Strong attention to detail

    + Excellent problem-solving skills

    + Excellent analytical skills

    + Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment

    + Advanced experience with pertinent word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project, email and file sharing software

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    + Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree

    + Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience

    + Minimum of 7 years’ managerial experience

    + Formal training in project management/process improvement/change management

    + Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Black belt, LEAN, and/or Change Management certifications

    + Equipment Finance or Commercial lending industry experience

    + Experience with financial analysis, regulatory analysis, process analysis and technical writing

    + Audit or consulting experience

    + Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis, and technical writing

    + Curious and innovative

    M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,945.80 - $198,243.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
