    Job Title: Project Controls Coordinator Job Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Project Controls Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. This role involves a hybrid work model, balancing in-office presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with remote work on Wednesday and Friday. The focus is on providing comprehensive control functions on all assigned projects, ensuring effective cost management and proactive risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor, report, and control project costs, performing forecasting and variance analysis for both field and internal project expenses.

    + Conduct in-depth project analysis, particularly from a field control perspective, to facilitate proactive communication and risk mitigation.

    + Collaborate with contractors to deliver training and support for EcoSys LEMs, ensuring accurate rate and estimate submissions.

    + Support Project Controls Advisors in setting up, receiving, and attesting LEMs.

    + Serve as a dedicated Field Cost Analyst for high-risk, high-complexity projects.

    + Generate regular and ad hoc analysis, including graphs, summary tables, and presentations.

    + Assist Project Engineers and Managers in Project Scope Management by providing insights into scope definition, verification, change control, and financial health.

    + Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, and comparative capital cost estimates, along with total program monthly forecast summaries.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to understand field costs and compare them against budgets and forecasts.

    + Track Key Performance Indicators and work with support groups to enhance project execution.

    + Prepare project status reports with variance analysis for senior management.

    + Forecast project and construction costs with detailed cost variance analysis.

    Essential Skills

    + Diploma or degree in construction or operations, with 3–7 years of relevant experience.

    + Field and industrial construction experience, particularly with cost and scheduling controls across multi-discipline projects.

    + Familiarity with engineering, procurement, contracting, execution, and commissioning phases.

    + Basic understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.

    + Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.

    + Experience with MS Office Suite and Oracle or SAP.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with EcoSys and Power BI is a plus.

    + Exposure to high-risk, high-complexity projects as a Field Cost Analyst.

    + Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.

    + Strong oral and written communication skills.

    + Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

    + Collaborative, team-oriented, and proactive work style.

    + Ability to train and support contractors on tools like EcoSys LEMs.

    Work Environment

    The position operates under a hybrid model, with in-office presence required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Wednesday and Friday. This structure supports a balanced work-life dynamic while fostering collaboration and productivity.

    This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
