    Job Title: Project Engineer

    Job Description

    As a Project Engineer under the supervision of the Manager of Projects, you will provide comprehensive support to Project Managers across various phases of robotic automation projects. This role involves problem-solving, conflict resolution, schedule adherence, cost tracking, change orders, documentation, and acting as a liaison with customers. You will communicate with current and potential customers to address and analyze needs and ensure successful project completion.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist Project Managers in developing detailed project schedules and monitor progress.

    + Create and maintain project layouts ensuring safety, quality, and functionality are met.

    + Negotiate layout details with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.

    + Gather initial data for engineering and monitor internal progress and costs.

    + Update project Risk Assessments monthly and manage Steering Group meetings.

    + Conduct customer site visits to verify and obtain project information.

    + Create and maintain system layout drawings using AutoCAD.

    + Generate detailed Design Request forms for all designs.

    + Participate in System Safety Risk Analysis according to safety standards.

    + Ensure projects are well documented and issues resolved before transitioning to Customer Support.

    + Communicate project budgets and schedules to departments and ensure timely updates.

    + Schedule and chair budget and schedule review meetings.

    + Create project specifications for third-party equipment purchases and handle change orders.

    + Delegate shipping, installation, and commissioning activities.

    + Problem-solve technical issues for as-built resolutions.

    + Ensure all documents are ready for customer run-off and arrange Post Mortem meetings.

    + Emphasize and monitor project safety with Project Managers.

    + Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs with guidance from the Project Manager.

    + Coordinate project activities, including layout, problem-solving, and documentation.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in an industrial or automation environment in a project management role.

    + Technical knowledge of manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, and automation equipment.

    + Experience with AGVs, racking systems, conveyors, robots, vision systems, and shipping systems.

    + Ability to create, read, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD.

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to present information effectively.

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + PMP Certification is a plus.

    + Japanese language skills are considered beneficial.

    + Experience in project management software such as MS Project.

    + Associate’s degree in Mechatronics or related field is advantageous.

The role requires approximately 40% travel, primarily at the start and final stages of projects.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
