Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer who can collaborate with our internal concept design team and external vendors to ensure the successful verification and integration of mechanical design for material handling equipment. The candidate will be responsible for design verification checks, vendor collaboration, and managing escalations to stakeholders while reviewing RFPS and making decisions based on schedule timelines, cost, and quality.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with internal and external teams for design verification of MHE equipment.
+ Conduct design verification checks with vendors and facilitate equipment integration.
+ Review RFPS and make decisions considering schedule, cost, and quality.
+ Manage escalations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ Project management and vendor management expertise.
+ Mechanical design knowledge of material handling equipment.
+ Experience working with vendors.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing).
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering, automation, material handling, and conveyor systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in upstream/downstream systems engineering.
+ Ability to retrofit and rearrange equipment for capacity enhancement.
+ Proven track record of meeting KPIs and deadlines.
+ Success in automation engineering roles, particularly in designing layouts for equipment retrofits or line implementations.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Candidates must be comfortable with an initial period of 5 days in office for integration. Potential for return to office 5 days a week in 2025. The role is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or evaluation for a full-time role. The work involves reporting to the Industrial Design Manager and may require travel up to 25% of the time, with no weekend travel necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
