    As Director, you will drive the strategic development, execution, and evaluation of core girl-focused programs, ensuring that each initiative meets the highest standards of quality and safety. From summer camps to after-school programs, your work will impact thousands of girls, helping them develop leadership skills and build confidence for their future.

     

    This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside a talented, mission-driven team, manage a diverse and dynamic staff, and make a lasting difference in the lives of young girls. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our programs while overseeing a variety of projects that span multiple disciplines and departments.

    What You'll Do:

    + Design, Implement, & Evaluate Programs: Lead the creation of inclusive, engaging, and outcomes-driven programs for girls ages 5-17 in areas like STEM, entrepreneurship, and outdoor adventures.

    + Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute innovative strategies that drive growth in girl and member participation, retention, and leadership development.

    + Safety and Quality: Ensure all programs meet Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and other regulatory standards, while managing ACA accreditation for council-operated camps.

    + Budget Management: Lead the management of a complex budget, balancing revenue generation and expense control to meet departmental goals.

    + Team Leadership: Build and nurture a high-performing team of year-round and seasonal staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and development.

    + Volunteer Engagement: Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and management to ensure successful program delivery.

    + External Partnerships: Build and nurture strategic collaborations with external partners to expand community support and resources.

    + Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside departments like Membership, Volunteer Support, Marketing, and Advancement to drive integrated strategies that maximize engagement and impact.

    What You Bring:

    + Leadership Experience: A minimum of five years managing teams and developing leaders, ideally in youth, nonprofit, or camp programming environments.

    + Program Development Experience: Proven ability to design, lead, manage and evaluate large-scale programs with measurable outcomes.

    + Budget and Financial Skills: Strong skills in budgeting, financial management, and forecasting.

    + Strategic Vision: Experience in strategic planning, decision-making, and implementing data-informed changes to improve programs.

    + Team-Oriented Mindset: Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff to their fullest potential, creating a culture of respect, inclusivity, and collaboration.

    + Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.

    + Adaptability & Organization: Highly organized and able to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

    + Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, business, or related field (Master’s preferred). A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
