    Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives for Integration - Health System Operations-Full-Time Days- Hybrid

     

    Under the direction of the Office of the President, Chief Operating Officer, and the Operational Excellence & Business Innovation leadership team, the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives for Integration plays a key role in aligning Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) with the Mount Sinai Health System’s (MSHS) clinical and operational structures. This role ensures MSSN’s full integration into the overall strategic framework of the health system by supporting enterprise-wide initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration, and promoting consistency in operational and strategic execution. This role may also assist with system integration efforts beyond MSSN

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    + Strong background in healthcare operations either in the ambulatory or inpatient setting?

    + Exceptional project management skills?

    + Experience in strategic planning and translating high-level goals into actionable initiatives

    + Ability to design and take initiatives from abstract to concrete, can think strategically but also execute operationally with an attention to detail

    + Ability to apply continuous improvement methodologies and recommendations in project work

    + Experience with data analysis, interpretation and metric performance monitoring

    + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain?relationships with all levels of the organization?

    Minimum Education

    + Bachelors' degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Health Care-clinical or administration, or related quantitative field required. Masters Degree preferred. Certification preferred and/or working knowledge of Lean/ Six Sigma methodologies

    Minimum Related Experience

    + 8+ years direct project management, program management, performance improvement, or consulting experience in one or more of the following areas: Strategic planning, operations management, quality improvement and process improvement, including at least two years of managing staff or stakeholders in a complex organization

    Responsibilities

    + Partner with system leadership (VP of Integration) to define and scope integration-focused strategic initiatives while also leading the hands-on execution needed to embed them into daily operations.

    + Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical leadership across departments to identify integration opportunities, address barriers, and ensure seamless adoption of system practices.

    + Measure and monitor progress of integration initiatives, analyze outcomes, and prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership.

    + Serve as a liaison between hospital, health system leaders, and operational teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on strategic goals.

    + Provide regular updates on integration initiative progress to health system leadership, service line leadership, and other key stakeholders at the monthly MSSN Integration Steering Committee

    + Perform other responsibilities as required to advance MSSN’s alignment with the broader health system

    + Support change management efforts to foster engagement and adoption of integration strategies across the organization.

    + Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation

    + When appropriate, develop operational and/or business plans to support the successful achievement of departmental goals

    + Manage team members (directly or indirectly) ensuring appropriate approach and execution of strategic initiatives

    + Performs other responsibilities as required

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $104995 - $153000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
