Job Summary
Provides work direction to maintenance mechanics and contractors. The Lead Power Plant Technician coordinates operations, maintenance, repairs and equipment installations in accordance with the service goals and objectives. Performs necessary repairs, maintenance services and installations of equipment to promote a safe environment. Ability to comprehend wide range of technical subject and coordination details. May attend scheduled meetings with maintenance supervisor, department staff and director. May facilitate such meetings. Operates, maintains, and services all power plant equipment including engine generator sets, boilers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors. Performs water analysis on all systems and add chemicals to keep levels in recommended ranges. Monitors and diagnoses control issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Building Automation System and other systems integral to operation. Keeps daily log sheets on major operating equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade or Vo-Tech school in a related area preferred.
Three years experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of power production equipment, boilers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water softeners and related systems. Experience in supervision preferred.
Class B Boiler license preferred. Valid Driver's License required. Must maintain good driving record.
