    Empowering People's Independence (EPI), provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion.

    Job Purpose:

    The primary purpose of this position is to provide the continuous direction and day-to-day operations of the Community Service’s Structured Day Program (SDP).

     

    Pay Range: $53,000/yr-$60,500/yr

    Essential Functions:

    + Maintain the health & well-being of individuals served and ensure adequate staffing levels to support services.

    + Monitor all government required documentation and ensure accuracy.

    + Participate in all external referrals, admissions, placement, and discharges.

    + Review and sign off on all billing documentation to ensure compliance with funder and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.

    + Participate in supervisory on-call rotation.

    + Assume role of Direct Support Professional (DSP) as needed to ensure proper levels of support.

    + Ensure all required reporting is completed per specification.

    + Follow up on all Direct Support Professional (DSPs) documentation ensuring it is accurate and up to date.

    + Report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.

    + Promote workplace safety.

    + Must attend Leadership trainings.

    + Performs other duties as assigned by Community Services Associate Director and/or designee within scope of practice.

    Non-Essential Functions:

    + Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

    + Participate on various EPI committees as able.

    Compliance:

    + Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.

    + Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated at time of hire and annually thereafter as per OPWDD regulations.

    + Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times.

    Education and Experience:

    + Minimum associate’s degree preferred in related field, or one with a recreation focus with two (2) years supervisory experience.

    + Bachelor's degree preferred with minimum of three (3) years combined experience in human services field and supervision.

    + Knowledge of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) & Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) waivers a plus.

    Supervision:

    + Ensure team compliance of annual trainings.

    + Manage direct report(s) time and attendance using HRIS platform.

    + Manages team of one (1) Assistant Supervisor and minimum five (5) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Must collaborate with Human Resources for; recruitment/onboarding, performance management, etc.

    Computer Skills:

    + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

    Qualifications:

    + Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel.

    + Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and a diverse employee population of various levels within the organization.

    + Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.

    + Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.

    + Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time; may have to twist, bend, use hand to finger, stretch with hands and arms.

    + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus

    + May be exposed to strong odors from time to time.

    + Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

     

    While performing the duties of this position, exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.
