Summary:
This role will provide legal counsel to the company on a range of global political law rules, focused on lobbying, political contributions, and government contracting. These are cutting-edge issues involving high-visibility policy priorities for the company.
Required Skills:
Associate General Counsel - Political Activities Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide compliance programs and initiatives
2. Advise on legal and regulatory compliance matters in the areas of campaign finance law, lobbying registration reporting, government contracts and government ethics
3. Actively partner with other legal compliance teams, such as anti-corruption and global trade
4. Develop and communicate compliance policies, processes and training
5. Actively collaborate with and support cross-functional teams, such as Public Policy, Public Affairs and Product to coordinate compliance programs and initiatives
6. Undertake special projects and support other compliance program initiatives
7. Advise clients on all of the ethical and transparency obligations applicable when interacting with government bodies (including anti-corruption law, gift and ethics rules, and lobbying disclosure laws)
8. Advise on the company’s compliance with international and U.S. federal, state, and municipal government contracting and procurement laws, rules, and regulations

Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
10. 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
11. Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
12. Effective communication skills
13. Experience advising on political laws, such as Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA), the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA), and government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR)

Public Compensation:
$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
