Position Overview
International Motors is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Engine Machining & Production to join our Huntsville Engine Plant as we expand operations to launch a second engine line.
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will support engine component machining production from layout and equipment installation through daily operations. This role combines blueprint interpretation, machinery troubleshooting, process optimization, and new product introduction leadership, driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and reliability. You will also represent Manufacturing Engineering in global cross-functional teams that shape product and process strategies.

Responsibilities
Machining & Production Support• Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in engine component machining layouts, equipment procurement, qualification, and installation.• Transition new equipment into day-to-day production and ensure processes meet customer demand.• Provide technical expertise to the Quality department on machining issues and product compliance.• React to machinery uptime issues and implement permanent, cost-effective, long-term solutions.
Process Development & Standardization• Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including production flow, machining methods, and equipment use.• Benchmark best practices from other facilities to standardize manufacturing processes.• Perform product and process analysis to achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains.• Follow up on engineering changes, design variations, and new program developments to ensure smooth transitions.
New Product Introduction & Capital Projects• Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including setting goals, training team members, and evaluating outcomes.• Support plant quality objectives by embedding robust processes into product launches.• Initiate and manage capital appropriation projects to support growth and technology integration.• Represent Manufacturing Engineering on cross-functional teams, influencing both technical and business decisions.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
+ Master’s degree
+ At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
+ At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
+ Expertise in machining and assembly processes for engine components
+ Strong blueprint interpretation and CAD/CAM knowledge
+ Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
+ Experience leading capital projects from justification through implementation
+ Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and quality teams
