Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. **Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care Center, Indian River Hospital** **Location:** Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital (CCIRH), Vero Beach, Florida **Department:** Infectious Disease **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Position Summary:** Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Wound Care Center team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, surgical wounds, and other complex wounds. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the PA/NP will play a critical role in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to promote optimal healing and improve patient outcomes. **Duties Include:** -Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.- Perform wound care procedures, such as debridement, dressing changes, compression therapy, and application of advanced wound care products.- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate multidisciplinary care.- Monitor and document wound healing progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.- Educate patients and their families on wound care management, prevention, and lifestyle modifications to support healing.- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies, to guide clinical decision-making.- Prescribe medications, including antibiotics, pain management, and other treatments, in accordance with state regulations and hospital policies.- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advancements in wound care through continuing education and professional development.- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. **Qualifications** **Education:** **APRN** Graduate of an accredited APRN program. Master's degree is required upon hire. **PA** Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board. **Languages:** Oral and written communication in English **Certifications:** **NP**

+ Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).

+ Must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s).

+ National certification as a Nurse Practitioner by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing.

+ Current DEA License or DEA designee as required by NCQA.

+ Wound care certification (e.g., WCC, CWS, CWCN) preferred or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.

+ Must have arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with requirements set forth by the State Board of Nursing in applicable states.

+ Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.

PA

+ Certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA or successor organization recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.

+ License to practice and prescribe issued by their practicing states Licensing Board.

+ Current DEA License or DEA designee as required by NCQA.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) American Heart Association may be required based upon work setting.

+ If a candidate has held a license to prescribe within another jurisdiction and needs to obtain a master's degree in order to apply for prescribing privileges the candidate will be subject for review for eligibility for hiring within our system.

+ Must have a Physician Supervision Agreement and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.

+ Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.

Work Experience:** - Previous experience in wound care, dermatology, vascular surgery, or a related field preferred.- New graduates with a strong interest in wound care and relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply. **Skills:** - Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills. **Work Environment:** - The Wound Care Center operates during regular business hours, with no on-call or weekend requirements.- The role involves working in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with occasional exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.- Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, assist with patient positioning, and perform manual wound care procedures.Why Join CCIRH?
