The incumbent is responsible to provide the support required to manufacture sterile and microbiological safe medical products. Analyzes growth, morphology and general characteristics of bacteria and other microorganisms. Provides microbiological and process engineering support for environmental control activities for the manufacture of sterile medical devices, which involves Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET), environmental monitoring, sterilization process, collects water samples and other activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1. Performs the environmental monitoring test related to the manufacturing clean room areas.

2. Collects water samples for microbiological test.

3. Isolates and makes cultures of bacteria or others microorganism in general and selective media.

4. Perform Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET) to different products.

5. Set up, adjust, and operates laboratory equipment such as: Steam Sterilizer (Autoclave), Microscope, Balance, particle counter, incubators and other laboratories equipment.

6. Provides support in laboratory validations such as: EtO Sterilization Vessel, Steam Sterilizer, depyrogenization oven and others.

7. Prepare, clean, disinfect and or sterilize instruments, materials, or equipment.

8. Fills test results forms of all test performed in the laboratory following Good Documentation Practices Procedures.

9. Maintains Inventory of the culture media and reactive used for general microbiological test.

10. Assures all equipment used in laboratory is calibrated prior to be used for testing.

11. May perform other related duties.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences (Major in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related areas).

• 0 to 3 years of experience in a FDA regulated manufacturing environment.

• Full knowledge of GMP and Good Laboratory Practices.

• Ability to work with different laboratory instruments, read and prepare reports.

**Pay Details:** $12.50 per hour
