Senior Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller – Real Estate Investment

Join a mission-driven investment firm focused on creating and preserving affordable housing nationwide. With over $1B in AUM and a collaborative team culture, this role offers high-impact exposure to fund and property-level accounting, reporting, and financial operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you’ll lead fund and property accounting reviews, manage audits, support investor reporting, and help improve internal systems and processes. You’ll work closely with the CFO, fund administrators, and asset management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

+ Review fund and property financials, waterfalls, and asset management fees

+ Ensure compliance with LPAs and investor reporting requirements

+ Support quarterly reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking

+ Assist with cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning

+ Lead or support system implementations and process improvements

+ Manage treasury functions and onboarding of property managers

+ Coordinate audits, tax filings, and fund administrator communications

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 5+ years of accounting experience (public + real estate/fund accounting preferred)

+ CPA and strong GAAP knowledge required

+ Advanced Excel modeling skills

+ Strong understanding of real estate financials and fund structures

+ Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills

+ Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

+ High integrity and accountability

Preferred Skills

+ Experience with Dynamo, Yardi, or Kyriba

+ Process optimization and automation experience
