Utility Operator

The Utility Operator is responsible for operating the grinding mills within optimum operating, safety, and quality parameters while maintaining product API specifications. The incumbent is also responsible for feeding crude ore to the mills, periodic sampling of the ground product, the monitoring of plant equipment, and the transfer of finished product to designated holding tanks. Job duties include operator maintenance, pre-operation inspections and operation monitoring. The Utility Operator must maintain communications with the Lab Technician to stay aware of process test results, must maintain the mill and compressor oil levels and proper operating conditions, must maintain adequate feed availability of the proper grade in the feed bins, and must maintain the optimum settings to obtain quality and cost effective production.
Roles & Responsabilities
+ Be responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and the Company’s procedures and guidelines in the performance of their duties.
+ Perform their job safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
+ Continually inspect their work areas for unsafe or substandard conditions or unsafe work practices.
+ Correct or take interim action on any unsafe or substandard conditions or practices that they observe and report to the immediate supervisor.
+ Participate, as required, in all training classes and exercises.
+ Participate, as required, in all HSE performance development activities and systems.
+ Report all injury, near-miss, property damage and hazardous conditions to their immediate supervisor.
+ Support the ISO/API standards
Qualification & Experience
+ The incumbent should have had previour experience in similar roles.
+ +2 years experience operating the mills, the maintenance personnel in repairing and rebuilding the mills, and the bagging crews.
+ Prior experience operating multiple types of equipment, including loaders, forklifts, haul trucks, and skid steers is required.
+ Should have a good understanding of the Product standards for quality and his/her own authority in maintaining product quality.
